This Privacy Policy describes how the StockMate mobile application ("StockMate", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our app.

By installing or using StockMate, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account and Profile Information

• Google Sign-In data: name, email address, profile photo (if provided).
• User profile: restaurant/shop name, owner name, phone number, and profile picture that you enter inside the app.

1.2 Inventory and Usage Data

• Products and stock entries you add (product name, category, quantity, price, etc.).
• Daily stock snapshots and automatically generated stock predictions.
• Backup / restore data stored in your account for syncing across devices.
• Support tickets and feedback that you submit from inside the app.

1.3 Device and Technical Data

• Device information (model, operating system version).
• App version, language, and basic log information (crash logs, error logs).
• Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token used to send push notifications to your device.
• Advertising identifiers and basic analytics data from third‑party SDKs (for ads and app performance).

1.4 Payment and Subscription Data

• Subscription status (premium / free), plan name, expiry date.
• Payment reference ID or transaction ID (we do not store full card / UPI details in the app).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

• To create and maintain your StockMate account.
• To store and sync your inventory and stock history across devices using cloud backup.
• To generate daily stock predictions and reminders.
• To send push notifications (e.g. stock reminders, announcements, updates).
• To manage premium subscriptions and access control (free vs. premium features).
• To provide customer support and respond to support tickets.
• To show ads to free users and control ad frequency.
• To monitor usage, improve app features, and fix bugs.

3. Legal Basis

Depending on your location, we process your data based on:

• Your consent (for example, Google Sign‑In, notifications, ads).
• Performance of a contract (to provide the StockMate service and premium features).
• Legitimate interests (to improve the app, prevent abuse, and maintain security).

4. Third‑Party Services

StockMate uses the following third‑party services, which may collect information used to identify you. Please review their privacy policies:

• Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore Database, Cloud Storage, Cloud Messaging)

• Payment Gateway / Play Billing (for premium subscriptions, if enabled)
  Payment processing is handled by Google Play or the selected payment provider. We do not store full payment instrument details in the app.

5. Data Storage and Retention

• Your data is stored on secure Google Firebase servers.
• We retain your data as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service.
• You can request account deletion; after deletion we will remove or anonymise personal data within a reasonable time, except where we are required to keep it by law.

6. Data Sharing and Transfers

• We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
• We may share data with service providers that help us operate the app (e.g. Firebase, analytics, ads), strictly for the purposes described in this policy.
• Your data may be processed on servers located outside your country. By using the app you consent to such cross‑border data transfers.
• We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.

7. Cookies and Similar Technologies

StockMate itself does not use cookies inside the mobile app, but third‑party SDKs (such as Firebase and AdMob) may use identifiers and similar technologies for analytics and advertising.

8. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your region, you may have rights such as:

• Accessing and updating your profile information inside the app.
• Enabling or disabling notifications from system settings.
• Controlling ad personalization from your Google account / device settings.
• Requesting deletion of your account data by contacting us.

9. Children’s Privacy

StockMate is intended for use by business owners and shop/restaurant staff. The app is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete such information.

10. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data (for example using secure connections, authentication, and access controls). However, no method of transmission or storage over the Internet is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
